Don't forget about me, your soil!

It is essential to maintain a healthy pH for your lawns. A pH scale ranges from 0-14, acidic to alkaline, or sour to sweet as we like to say! 6.0 - 6.8 is a great pH for most lawns. We usually recommend a slightly acidic pH measure. Be careful not to waste time and money on fertilizer because you may not need it if your lawn is not in proper health.

pH measures the amount of hydrogen (H+). The more hydrogen present the more acidic. The best way to test your pH, is with a pH measure. You can purchase a digital reader or a test kit. The test kit will usually be more inexpensive as compared to a electronic digital reader. We suggest the brand Luster Leaf Rapitest Soil Test Kit.

Now that you have taken the time to check out this post, we hope you continue your research. There is always plenty more to learn. Have at it and enjoy your green lawn!
